Bonjour,
My name is Christyn and I am searching for my great great grandfathers family and to find out where and when he was born. His name is Francis Xavier Normand and the family says he was born around 1846 in Lille France. The story then goes that he had three children named Maurice, Edith, and Benjamin. His wife died and they all went to china and then to Quebec. Where he met and married my great great grandmother and they had 3 children one being Francis Jr.
One family member says he left France because he didn't want to join the army another says it was because of persecution. Any help would be great. I can understand some French as I took 4 years in high school and college. Forgive me for writing in english but it was faster for me. again thank you for any help.
