I am searching for information on my French family. My grandfather came to the US in 1912 from Lille, PDC, France. This is what I know:
Alexandre Joseph DeCobert born about 1866 in St. Omer, died 1897 in France, wife Eugenie Clarice Evard, born ??, died??, 2 children:
1) Eugene Alexandre Francois DeCobert born 19 Apr 1886 PDC France, died 10 Oct 1970 in Illinois USA, married Leontine Eugenie Hornoy born 17 Sept 1887 in Lille, PDC, France, died 10 Oct 1967 in Illinois USA, children: 1) Eugene Alexandre Decobert born 1908 in PDC France, died 1987 in Illinois USA, 2) Eugenie born 1909 in PDC France, still living in Illinois USA
2) Hippolyte Alexandre DeCobert born 1883 PDC France, died 1958 in USA, married Rosarie Leurette boen 11 Oct 1885 in France, died 1965 in USA, children: 1)Eugene Louis DeCobert born 1907 in France, 2) Hippolyte Alexandre DeCobert born 1905 in France, 3) Mary Katherine DeCobert born 1924 in USA.
Eugene Alexandre Francois DeCobert sailed from La Havre to the US on 12 May 1912 on La Savoie, later in 1912 his brother Hippolyte and their wives and children sailed to the US to join him. They settled in Gillespie, Illinois. Later Hippolyte and his family went on to Texas.
